Spring Break By the Pool

Spring Break Essentials:

Beach bag that doubles as day purse:

When packing for a trip the best thing to do is pack things with multiple purposes.  This Madewell Transport Tote is a perfect example.  It’s the perfect size for a towel, sunscreen, and a book but then it's also big enough for a day bag to put a sweater in just in case it gets cooler later.

Personalized Bathing Suit

There is nothing better than sneaking away from a snowstorm in Rhode Island and getting into a bathing suit in California.  My thought is if you are going to wear a bathing suit it might as well be personalized.  I found the perfect company for this and it is called RahRah Designs that is based out of California.  I have a couple of these gorgeous suits; The Signal Flag Monogram, the Circle Monogram in navy (shown in the photo above) and a plain navy one with the GORGEOUS pink tie around the neck.  RahRah bathing suits are perfect if you are an active girl like me.  When I am at the beach you wont catch me laying for long.  I keep myself busy whether its tossing the football or Frisbee or even kicking the soccer ball (badly I should add).  These bathing suits are perfect and will hold everything in if you know what I mean.

Whenever I am at the pool, at the beach or even still in bed I always have book next to me.  Right now I am reading the Divergent trilogy, which is AMAZING.  If you are a nerdy hopeless romantic this is for you!  (Order them from TARGET here, its the cheapest way to get the entire trilogy)

Tory Burch Flats
I may be the only girl out there that feels this way but I HATE flip flops! It is such a weird concept to me… why would I want to put something in between my toes and walk around?  It just hurts.  You will either catch me barefoot, in flats or in keds.  I ruin shoes so these flats are perfect for me because they are all leather and instead of the logo being glued on it's sewn so I wont be popping that off anytime soon.

Ray Bans
Fighting wrinkles every step of the way! My biggest fear is having wrinkles on the sides of my eyes from squinting at the sun. Sunglasses is the easiest thing to prevent this.  I have so many pairs of sunglasses but the ones pictured in the photo above are definitely my favorite right now.  My father's friend owns a sunglass place in Providence RI called Westside Eyewear Boutique.  When I went there he had a couple pairs of vintage glasses from the 70's.  These Ray Bans were calling my name the second I walked into the store and I had to leave with them.  In the 70's RayBan used actual glass for the lens so I am so careful with these because with my luck I would shatter them.  (you can buy similar ones here)

Cran/Water with Lemons
Ever since I was a kid I have always watered down my juice (I didn’t know what apple juice really tasted like until I was 12).  My favorite refreshing drink is half organic cranberry juice and half water then lemon.  It’s the perfect refreshing drink to have by the pool.  It also turns into a great happy hour drink after 5 ;)

SPF Neutrogena Sensitive Skin
Sunscreen! Sunscreen! Sunscreen! The most important thing you need for a sunny Spring Break.  I love Neutrogena Products because they work great for my sensitive skin! The higher the SPF, the better!

Baseball Cap
Baseball caps are the perfect accessory for a day in the sun.  My favorite right now is my navy Vineyard Vines cap.  This cap fits perfect and is a great way to cover up messy hair.  This cap comes in multiple colors but the navy is just so easy to wear with everything.

  1. I'm going to be packing for a trip to Florida soon and it includes a few days at the beach. This post is a great reminder of things I always forget, like a hat. Glad to see you had such a great time in California!

  2. I love these tips Sadie! Especially your monogram swimsuit and Tory Burch flats- I've never been a big flip flop fan either so it's good to know that the Revas stand up well enough to take to the beach :)
